#ABIKINIKINDOFLIFE

I got a sneaky peek of what Billabong has in store for Summer.

Gorgeous prints and colors on all types of amazing bikini's and apparel were displayed beautifully at the Mondrian on Sunset. As I scoured the goods I already had vacation on my mind and both combined put me into full Summer mode. I've been really into the idea of rocking a crochet bikini this season and Billabong has the perfect black and white one that I'm eyeing. I can't wait for the warmer days to be consistent and the longer sunlight hours to continue.

KNOCKAROUND AT POW! WOW! HAWAII

In case you were wondering what I was filming out in Hawaii a couple weeks ago, here it is.

A lot of projects went down while I was out there, but the main focus of the trip was to film the happenings of Pow! Wow! Hawaii. Knockaround sunglasses is a sponsor for the week long event and so we put together this recap vid for them. It was great working with the guys at Knockaround on this.

Being that this was my second time back at Pow! Wow! I was even more excited knowing what I was in for. The culture of the whole thing is really amazing and pretty much unlike anything else. There's a real sense of camaraderie, not to mention a ton of incredibly talented/creative people.

To witness all of the artists in action is an awesome experience but if I had to pick a couple favorites it'd be Kevin Lyons and James Jean.

LIFE IN IPHONE PHOTOS - FEBRUARY EDITION

Oh, hey it's March. To me it means that Spring is right around the corner.

Anyway, as promised, here are the snapshots from my iphone capturing the last month. I feel like the majority of my February was spent in Hawaii - I'm still missing it.

Home Sweet Home at The Modern Honolulu

Shot the latest 16th Colony collection in Hawaii. Excited doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about it.

HAWAIIAN DAYDREAM

I'm back in California and Pow Wow Hawaii was a blast, but I'll get to that later.

This was definitely a bit of a work/play trip - how can it not be with the weather so amazing. One of the days was set aside to just freely explore the island of Oahu. First stop was Pali lookout and it's sweeping views. Then down to Lanikai Beach, which was stunningly gorgeous but finally I moved on to a way less crowded beach at the bottom of the island called Makapu'u.

Usually after a trip, I'm ready to get back home. And even though I've been to Hawaii before, there's something about this time that has me still daydreaming and wishing I was back there.

WILLOW + CLAY: SS15 LOOKBOOK FILM

One of the hardest things about the fashion industry is 'the wait'.

Whether it's designing a collection or shooting video/photos for clients. I always get so impatient and want to release everything immediately. I filmed and directed this video lookbook for Willow and Clay back in July out in Joshua Tree.

I remember that day being intensely hot but the crew was seriously amazing. I really enjoy the creative freedom of putting together a story through video for a collection - this was an awesome piece to edit. I'm happy to finally share it. Definitely cruise on over to Willow and Clay and peep their new SS15 collection.

HAPPY LOVE DAY

Valentine's Day isn't something that I really prioritize but it's a great excuse to dress up and enjoy the evening.

I can't hold off any longer and decided to rock one of the new dresses from the 16th Colony Spring/Summer collection. I designed this piece over a year ago just for myself and after many comments I realized I needed to create it for the brand. The only problem was that the fabric the I used was rare and I only had 2 yards worth to make this one-off.

After some seriously relentless searching, I finally found the fabric again and made sure to purchase the entire roll. This piece represents the beginning of what's to come in the new collection and the brand as a whole. Which is more dresses, skirts and tops. I can't wait to release it next month!

LONG TIME, NO SEE

I found it appropriate to apply a vintage looking tint to this set of photos.

Considering it's been about 3 months since they were taken back during my trip to Miami. Which I guess means I'm about 3 months behind on the blog game. Needless to say, things have been the usual crazy, hectic. Lately, my main focus has been on my work, art and creating. I'm really looking forward to getting up some of the posts that I've had under wraps for the last few months.

In the meantime, feel free to peruse these South Beach flicks. I already posted a lovely outfit featuring Junim from when I was in Orlando. After a few days there it was decided that 36 hours in Miami was in order. So I stayed one quick night at The Betsy Hotel - which was by far one of the coolest boutique hotels I've stayed at. After arrival it was brunch on the patio followed by a bit of quality beach time.

The next day, it was all about checking out the colorful life guard towers and then of course the Wynwood Walls. The Wynwood Walls Kitchen + Bar is a reoccurring spot whenever I'm in Miami. Sangria + chips and guac - yes, please.

Anyway, there you have it. Sorry I've been holding out on you for so long. More to come pretty soon.

SWELL IN LAGUNA

I'm really glad to finally share the last photos from this collab.

In November, I spent some time at my girl Dee's salon, Swell Beauty, in Laguna Beach. As mentioned in a previous post, she did me up with makeup that reflects my daily look and a perfect messy knot top. Shawna of Bleudog Foto captured the day with some amazing stills. These are the kinds of people I enjoy working with. It's such a rewarding feeling collaborating with talented girls and creating works of art combined with having fun.
